DST Check

Drop in a DST file. It adds the cuts, removes tiny stitches and shows you trouble spots before the needle moves.

1. Your file

Tajima .DST only. The file stays on this computer; nothing is uploaded.

Drop DST hereor click to choose

2. Settings

Defaults suit most jobs. Change one and the check reruns.

Saves a copy ending in "-fixed.dst". Your original is never changed.

3. What we found

Read left to right: size and stitch count, then what the tool fixed, then what still needs your eye.

–Size (mm)
–Stitches
–Cuts added
–Tiny stitches removed
–Dense areas
Your design will appear here, stitch by stitch.

Checklist

Hi-vis ticks are fixed for you. Yellow needs a look before you stitch.

Colours

One swatch per colour in the file, with its stitch count. DST files don't store thread colours, so tap a swatch to match your threads in the preview.

Test your machine (once)

Two minutes on a bit of scrap tells you the cuts will work. Do it once, not every job.

  1. Download the cut test file (two small squares, 40 mm wide, one colour). Load and stitch it like any design.
  2. If the machine asks about "feed" or "thread trimming" when it loads, take a photo before you press anything.
  3. Look between the two squares. Thread cut cleanly: you're set, the tool's cuts will work. Loose thread dragged across: the cut setting needs changing. Send Chris the photo.
  4. While you're in the settings: Settings → Environment 2 → Del. small stch. If it says OFF, set it to 0.2. That stops the tiny stitches that snap thread.
